Asthma
Asthma is an inflammatory disease of the airways. It can cause coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath, and tightness in the chest. Asthma is caused by a combination of genetic and environmental factors, the interplay of which is not yet fully understood. Inflammation due to asthma may be alleviated throug the use of inhaled corticosteroids and immunotherapy. The best chance for asthma sufferers to avoid future attacks is to identify and avoid local environmental triggers.
